Pilot: Staff on the fire roll call
Staff and visitors on one fire roll call: in pilot
When the alarm goes you want one list at the assembly point, with staff and visitors on it. Today your marshal reads the visitors from one place and counts the staff some other way, and the two have to be added up in the car park.

Today
Today the list is visitors and contractors
- The roll call lists the visitors and contractors signed in at the site, and a driver who signs in as one. The marshal reads it on a phone at the assembly point.
- Staff are not on it. If your own staff clock in on a different system, or do not clock in at all, your roll call is this list plus whatever covers them.
The pilot
Staff on the same list
The pilot will have staff sign in and out at the same kiosk as visitors. We plan for them to appear on the same roll call, so that the marshal reads one list.
What we want to hear
Tell us how you count staff now
- How many staff are on site?
- Which shifts do they work?
- How are staff counted in a drill today?

Tell us how your last drill went
Fifteen minutes on the phone, or an email. Tell us how many staff, on which shifts, and how they were counted at your last drill, and we will tell you straight whether a kiosk sign in is a sensible way to count them.
