Pilot: Still on site at lock-up
Who is still signed in at lock-up time: a message we are piloting
You lock the building at the end of the day, and you need to know whether a contractor is still inside before you do. Some evenings a contractor is working late on their own, and the only way to find out is to walk round or to remember to check.

Today
Today somebody has to look
- The roll call shows who is signed in, on a phone or at the desk, if somebody opens it.
- Nothing sends a message at a set time. The Teams or Slack channel is told when a visitor signs in, and it is not told who is still there at five o’clock.
- Anyone still signed in at 23:59 UTC, which is 00:59 in summer, UK time, is signed out automatically at that time. The record shows the automatic time, not when they left.
The roll call as it is todayWhat the Teams or Slack message says
The pilot
One message, at the time you choose
The pilot will send a message to your site’s Teams or Slack channel at a time you choose, listing who is still signed in. We plan for it to go to the same channel the arrival messages already use.
It will not be a lone worker safety system. It will not check on anybody, raise an alarm or know whether a person is well, and a contractor who works alone on your site needs the arrangements your own risk assessment sets.

Tell us how the building is locked today
Fifteen minutes on the phone, or an email. Tell us when you lock up, who holds the keys and how you find out today that somebody is still inside, and we will tell you straight whether a message to your channel would help.
