Permit-to-Work is a module on your managed kiosk service, at the same list price as every other module. Which permit types you switch on depends on your site and your contractor mix, and that is configured with you during setup. It does not change the monthly price.

The questions people ask about permit to work software
What is an electronic permit to work system?
It replaces the pad of paper permits. A permit is authorised, issued for a specific job with its controls attached, and signed on by the contractor on screen, and every one of those steps is logged with a name, a role and a time. Ours runs as a module on the Noon Elite kiosk, so the permit sits in the same record as the contractor’s sign in and the fire roll call rather than in a separate folder.
Is it permit to work software, or an app?
It is software that we host and maintain, not an app anybody installs. Your managers authorise and issue permits in a browser and at the kiosk. The contractor’s office deals with the RAMS from a link in an email, and the contractor’s supervisor signs on with their own phone by scanning a QR code. Nobody downloads anything, which matters when the person signing on is a subcontractor you will see twice a year.
Which permits can it issue?
Hot work, confined space, working at height, electrical isolation, plant and machinery, and general maintenance. The permit types are configured for your site during setup, and switching more of them on does not change the monthly price.
Do we need the kiosk to use it?
Yes. Permit to work is a module on the kiosk platform rather than a standalone product, at £150 a month plus VAT on top of the kiosk. That is deliberate: a permit is only useful if it is tied to who is actually on site, and the kiosk is the thing that knows.
Is it available now?
It is in early access. That means it is switched on for a site with us involved in the setup, rather than sold self serve, and that we want to hear what your permit process needs before you rely on it. The ten minute walkthrough on this page is the real module, recorded end to end against a demonstration site.
We only need a paper permit for now. Do you have a template?
Yes, two, and both are free with no form to fill in: a general permit to work template built on the essentials HSE’s guidance lists, and a hot work permit with the fire precautions and fire watch periods already printed on it. They are linked under these questions. If you issue a few permits a year, the paper one is fine and we will tell you so.
