Case study
JKP Metal Packaging
The first site in the UK running a Noon Elite visitor kiosk. Here is what changed, and how long it took.
- Metal packagingManufacturing, Derbyshire
- Under an hourFrom box to first sign in
- Kiosk PlatformModule in use
- August 2026Running continuously since
The situation
Like most industrial sites, JKP ran visitor sign in on paper. A book on the reception desk, a pen on a string, and a column for time in and time out that visitors filled in when they remembered to.
That works fine right up until the moment it does not. When a fire alarm sounds, someone has to physically grab the book, carry it to the assembly point, and read handwritten names off a page, hoping that everyone who signed in also signed out. Anyone who forgot is now recorded as still inside the building.
The site needed a way to answer one question quickly and correctly: who is on our site right now?
What we installed
Noon Elite supplied a fully managed iPad kiosk, mounted on a stand at reception and configured before it ever arrived on site. It handles:
- Visitor sign in and sign out, capturing name, company and who they are visiting
- Delivery drop offs, with a fast path for drivers who are not staying
- Contractor check in, kept separate from general visitors
- Live fire roll call, an accurate real time list of everyone signed in, readable from any phone at the assembly point
The install
The kiosk was built, branded and tested at our workshop before delivery. On the day, installation took under an hour: position the stand, connect to site wifi, run through the visitor flow with the reception team, done. No cabling, no server, no IT project.
The result
JKP’s reception now runs without a paper book. Sign ins are timestamped automatically, sign outs are prompted, and the fire roll call list is always current. No transcription, no guessing, no clipboard.
Because the service is fully managed, JKP has nothing to maintain. Device management, software updates, backups and support are all included in a single monthly subscription.
The Kiosk does everything we need it to simply and reliably at a great price.
Could this work for your site?
The roll call problem is the same wherever the book is
If somebody has started asking you to show who was on site and when, that is the same question JKP needed answering. Noon Elite kiosks are supplied, installed and managed by us on a monthly subscription, for manufacturing and industrial sites across the UK.
